Actress Richardson In Critical ConditionMarch 17, 2009MONTREAL -- A family member is confirming that British-born actress Natasha Richardson has been in a skiing accident. Kika Markham is married to Richardson's uncle. She said the family knows Richardson had an accident, but doesn't have any more details. She said they "are very concerned." People.com and IrishCentral.com reported earlier that the Tony award-winning actress and wife of Liam Neeson was in critical condition in a Montreal hospital after suffering a head injury. TMZ.com reported that Richardson suffered a severe brain injury, but did not cite any sources. The celebrity gossip site said that the actress was skiing Mont Tremblant ski resort in Quebec aand was on a beginners' slope. According to the ski patrol, TMZ said, Richardson fell and tumbled down the slope and did not strike a tree or another person. According to a statement obtained by IrishCentral.com, Neeson left the Toronto set of his latest film, "Chloe," to be with his wife. "Liam Neeson left the Toronto set immediately to fly to Montreal upon news of his wife’s accident," a rep for the film said in a statement to Canadian TV. "We do not have any details at this time but we hope for the best and our thoughts and prayers are with Natasha and Liam and their family." Natasha Richardson, 45, is the daughter of Vanessa Redgrave and sister of actress Joely Richardson. Natasha Richardson and Neeson have two sons. The performer won a Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical in 1998 for her role in "Cabaret." Her film credits include "The Parent Trap" and "The Handmaid's Tale."
