Car Crashes Into Carlsbad Lagoon From I-5
March 18, 2009CARLSBAD, Calif. -- A vehicle went off northbound Interstate 5, down an embankment and into a lagoon in Carlsbad Wednesday, leaving its two occupants injured, authorities said.
The solo-vehicle crash on the I-5 approaching Tamarack Avenue was reported at 2:05 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
Two people were taken to the hospital, the CHP reported. The extent of their injuries were not immediately released.
Authorities were investigating whether drunken driving was involved.
