Santee Man Arrested After Girlfriend Found BeatenMarch 27, 2009Santee Man Donald Lee Hinck In Custody After Girlfriend Found Beaten In Home SANTEE, Calif. -- A 50-year-old man is in custody Friday on suspicion of attempted murder in connection with an assault that critically injured his live-in girlfriend at their Santee home, authorities said. Donald Lee Hinck was arrested early Wednesday morning after deputies found his 38-year-old girlfriend lying on the floor at the couple's home with multiple head injuries, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department. Hinck called authorities to the home in the 8800 block of Prestwick Way shortly before 1 a.m. Wednesday and said he had just returned home to find his girlfriend injured, sheriff's Detective Pete Carrillo told The San Diego Union- Tribune. Deputies arrested Hinck at the scene. Detectives removed what was believed to be the assault weapon, but Carrillo would not say what it was, the Union-Tribune reported. Hinck was being held without bail at the San Diego Central Jail. He was scheduled to be arraigned as early as this afternoon, according to the sheriff's department's Web site.
