19 Arrested In Prostitution SweepMarch 29, 2009ESCONDIDO, Calif. -- Escondido police arrested 16 men and three women in a prostitution sting, officials announced Friday. Escondido police Lt. Craig Carter said the undercover operation on Friday took place in an area known for prostitution called "The Square," which is bordered by Mission Avenue to the north, Washington Avenue to the south, Quince Street to the west and Broadway to the east. Fifteen men and one woman were arrested on suspicion of soliciting for prostitution, two women for loitering with intent to commit prostitution and one man for pandering, Carter said. All the suspects were transported to Vista Detention Facility. Fourteen vehicles were also impounded during the undercover operation, he said. Return to San Diego Local News Roundup |
