Girl, 4, Calls 911 To Save Mom's LifeMarch 21, 2009SAN DIEGO -- She didn't panic and she didn't hesitate. A 4 year girl saved her mother's life by calling 9-1-1. Joe is actually one of the people who answer the phone. If there's one thing 4 year old Lechrista Gordon knows how to do is call 9-1-1. “Hello, my mommy's dead. Can you help, 9-1-1?” said the voice on the 911 tape. Fighting low blood sugar and ulcerative colitis, Lechrista's mother, Lemese Lane is on the floor unconscious. “Is she moving at all?” No, nothing? No.” Listening to the call her daughter made, Lechrista's mom is over come. She was unconscious at the time and the only ones home are Lechrista and her 1 year old sister. “She knew what to do, I'm so proud of my baby,” Lane said. She knew exactly what to do and when to do it. “When my mom fell on the floor, I called 911 and the police's come and take her to the hospital,” Lechrista said. “Knock knock, Lechrista can you answer the door please?" My mom right there. She not ok. She not ok. This is San Diego Police. We're hanging up, OK?” “I woke up and grabbed her and Lechrista grabbed both of us and said` Mom, It's OK. I will take care of you,’ and I said Oh, my baby. She's a big girl now,” Lane said. And now she’s officially a hero. Today, she was given a firefighter's shirt, a citation and a few toys from the department. But the best reward of all, knowing that Mom is OK. “Then, when I saw her came back and she was alright, she love me very much,” Lechrista said. Lechrista, a lot of people feel the same way.
