Goats Loose on New York Interstate
March 26, 2009NORTH CASTLE, N.Y. -- A pair of farm animals got some New York state troopers' goat earlier this week.
State troopers had to play goat herders on Interstate 684 north of New York City Tuesday as two goats wandered onto the highway.
Trooper Lenon Charles said he figures the four-legged pedestrians walked about five miles along the highway. He said officers would shoo the animals off the road, and they'd jump the guardrail and get right back on.
Finally, two women managed to corral the goats on a deck. The owner was found and animal control officers have decided not press charges in the case of the wandering goats.
