La Mesa Police Seek Man In Sex AssaultMarch 13, 2009LA MESA, Calif. -- A man who reportedly abducted a woman on an East County roadside, held her captive for eight hours and sexually assaulted her was being sought by police Friday. The 26-year-old woman told police the assailant confronted her as she was walking to work in the 7300 block of University Avenue in La Mesa at 8 a.m. Thursday, and then forced her into a car, La Mesa police Lt. David Bond said. She said the man, whom she described as heavyset, drove for about 10 minutes and stopped in a rural location, where he sexually assaulted her. In the late afternoon, the man took the woman back to an area near where he'd abducted her and dropped her off. She said the assailant was driving an older-model blue sedan, possibly a Nissan.
