According to dispatchers, the incident occurred shortly after noon on Avocado Boulevard and Fuerte Drive in an unincorporated area of El Cajon. We reported that police had received 911 calls about a man wielding a large hunting knife near the intersection of Chase Avenue and Avocado Boulevard. The man entered the intersection of Avocado and Fuerte, turned towards the officers and charged them, according to authorities.
