Over Six Hundred Pounds of Pot Found on Boat
March 29, 2009SAN DIEGO -- Federal agents have arrested two men and seized about 640 pounds of marijuana on a private ship off San Diego's Mission Bay.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection spokesman Vince Bond says the boat appeared to be coming from Mexico when it was intercepted on Saturday.
Two U.S. citizens, both men in their 20s, were arrested on suspicion of smuggling. Bond said that unlike recent cases of alleged drug vessels coming from Mexico, no undocumented immigrants were aboard the boat.
