Masked Gunman Robs Redwood Village 7-ElevenMarch 26, 2009SAN DIEGO -- A masked gunman robbed a Redwood Village convenience store Thursday morning but the clerk on duty was not hurt, police said. The man, wielding a silver toned handgun, robbed the 7-Eleven convenience store at 3603 College Ave. around 2:30 a.m., San Diego police Sgt. Alan Hayward said. During the robbery, the suspect pointed the gun at the clerk on duty and demanded he open the store's cash register, according to Hayward. The clerk complied and the thief ran off southbound with the money drawer, he said. Police described the gunman as black, in his 20s, around 6 feet, with a medium build, last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and a piece of cloth over his face.
