Hearing Today For School Official Accused Of Child Sex AbuseMarch 19, 2009VISTA, Calif. -- A preliminary hearing is scheduled Thursday for a veteran North County school administrator accused of sexually abusing a child for six years, beginning when she was 8. Robert Melvin Goode Jr., 60, is charged with 11 felony counts, including continuous sexual abuse of a minor and forcible oral copulation. He faces from six to 50 years in state prison if convicted of any or all charges, said Deputy District Attorney Jodi Breton. Goode, who is married and has adult children, recently resigned from his administrative position at three affiliated private schools -- Classical Academy in Escondido, Classical Academy High School in Escondido and Coastal Academy in Oceanside. For a number of years after 1983, he was high school principal at Tri-City Christian School in Vista, authorities said.
