San Diego State University 3rd Top Party School In U.S., Playboy Says
April 18, 2009SAN DIEGO -- Playboy magazine Friday named San Diego State University the third top party school in the United States.
Topping the magazine's list of top party schools was the University of Miami, followed by the University of Texas at Austin, SDSU, University of Florida and University of Arizona.
In compiling the list, the adult magazine rated each school in a series of five categories, with the top being the "bikini" factor, a combination of weather, guy-to-girl ratio and cheerleader ranking.
Schools were also rated on sex, campus life, sports and brains.
"It's all about bragging rights for students who are getting the best college experience," said Playboy Assistant Editor Rocky Rakovic.
"We didn't want bias tainting the results so we took a scientific approach and developed algorithms to equally weigh all of the things that are crucial to the social and academic development of collegians -- including sports, nightlife, girls and, of course, a solid education," he said.
The list will appear in Playboy's May issue.
