Candle Sparks Spring Valley Daycare Fire
March 26, 2009SPRING VALLEY, Calif. -- An unattended candle sparked a fire Thursday morning at a Spring Valley home that serves as a daycare center, causing about $60,000 in damage, but the property was closed for business at the time, and no one was hurt, authorities said.
The fire on Delrose Avenue, near Rangeview Street, was reported around 1:15 a.m., according to a Heartland fire dispatcher.
It took firefighters about eight minutes to get the blaze under control, she said, adding that no injuries were reported.
