Robbers Rip Laptop From Woman's HandsMarch 30, 2009LA MESA, Calif. -- A man grabbed a laptop computer from a woman in front of a grocery store in La Mesa, but she was not hurt, police said. The woman was sitting at a table in front of the Vons grocery store at 8011 University Ave. when the thief and a companion approached around 8:30 p.m. Sunday, according to La Mesa police. The woman clutched the sides of her laptop as the thief tore the computer from her hands, police said. The thief and his companion then ran to a gold or tan sedan, possibly a Honda, which was last seen headed eastbound on Allison Avenue, police said. Police described both the thief and his companion as black males in their early 20s, around 6 feet 2 inches tall and 155 pounds.
