Woman Escapes Sex Assault, Flees Into LibraryApril 2, 2009SAN DIEGO -- A 33-year-old woman fought off an attempted sexual assault near Serra Mesa Library, police said Thursday. The woman was walking alone toward the library at 9005 Aero Drive shortly before 8 p.m. Wednesday when a man grabbed her from behind, San Diego police Sgt. Paul Rorrison said. "[She] fought off the suspect and ran into the library," Rorrison said, adding that the woman was not hurt. Witnesses said the suspect fled, possibly in a pickup truck, he said. No description of the suspect was immediately released. The sex crimes unit of the San Diego Police Department was investigating, Rorrison said. Return to San Diego Local News Roundup |
